A VIEW FROM THE TOP THE
NEIGHBORHOODS OF IROQUOIS
The Iroquois
Preservation Committee, a branch of the Iroquois Neighborhood
Association/Civic Club have been compiling a book on the history of
the Iroquois Neighborhoods. Their extensive research has
encompassed countless visits to the local Public and University
Libraries, pouring through old newspapers, city directories, census
records, deeds, wills and photographic archives. They have
conducted oral history interviews with current and former residents
and business owners of the neighborhoods as well as descendants of
the original families that settled the South Louisville area.
The book will include an amazing collection of private photographs.
Stay tuned to the Little Loomhouse website for information on the
release of this exciting project schedule for Winter 2006.
Once available, the book can be purchased from this website.
Proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit the Little
Loomhouse.
